Internship Program Overview
The Student Internship Program at Open Hearts Counseling LLC offers graduate-level counseling students the opportunity to gain direct clinical experience in a supportive, trauma-informed, and client-centered private practice. Our goal is to nurture the next generation of ethical, confident, and compassionate clinicians through hands-on training, individualized supervision, and professional development.
Program Objectives

Provide hands-on clinical training aligned with CACREP and university standards.

Supervision & Support Intern Responsibilities

Weekly Individual Supervision with a fully licensed supervisor.

Optional group/peer supervision sessions or trainings.

Real-time case consultation and ongoing feedback.

Access to documentation templates and clinical resources.

Optional exposure to back-end operations of private practice (great for future practice owners!).

Conduct intakes and provide individual therapy (with supervision and support).

Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation using our EMR.

Participate in supervision, case consultation, and optional team meetings.

Engage in ongoing ethical, cultural, and trauma-informed reflection.

Maintain confidentiality and abide by ACA Code of Ethics and HIPAA standards.
